Join us for some upcoming in-person outdoor workshops on managing *Rhododendron ponticum* in the Kerry UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Taking place on Saturday 11th, 18th and 25th from 9.30am to 12.

We would like to invite you to a short talk and workshop being held locally on the management of Rhododendron Ponticum facilitated by the Kerry UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and the MacGillycuddy Reeks European Innovation Partnership project.

Rhododendron ponticum is an invasive plant species that is toxic to animals and reduces native biodiversity. Originating from the Iberian Peninsula it has found perfect growing conditions here in Kerry and is spreading throughout our countryside.
Each plant produces millions of seeds annually that are transported by wind meaning that even individual plants can have a huge impact on surrounding landscape over time.

The workshops we are offering are taking place on September 11th, 18th and 25th from 9.30am to 12pm at Moriarty’s gift shop in the Gap of Dunloe. There will be a short introduction talk followed by a practical outdoor demonstration. Refreshments will be served. Workshops are offered free of charge, however places are limited so please do call to book your place in advance. Please do bring your mask and wear suitable clothing for the outdoor element e.g. sturdy shoes and a warm jacket.
